SCHOOL PROGRAMS

KIDS CONNECTION

This school-based program serves at-risk youth which encompasses children who may be new to a school, or have experienced a death in the family, as well as those experiencing family problems. The small support group services children ages 6-11. The 10 Session Program that includes education and activities that help provide the skills youth need to be successful in staying alcohol, tobacco, and drug-free.

PROFILES IN COURAGE

 

This program provides 10 group counseling sessions to middle and high school students at their campus. It is facilitated by a licensed counselor and focuses on providing information, support, and skills for coping. Additional services include brief individual counseling, assessments, and referrals for other services.

LIFE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM

Life Skills is geared for students in grades 3-8. This nationwide program empowers students with knowledge and skills to say "NO" to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, build healthy relationships and to resist peer pressure. Statistics have proven that multi-drug use is cut by up to 66% and tobacco, alcohol and marijuana use is cut by up to 75%.

PUPPET PRESENTATIONS

2006-2008 the Life Steps puppet team did a creative puppet presentations called "Don't Smoke" and "Dr. J show". These shows was performed in 15 elementary schools in Georgetown and Round Rock.

Puppet shows were done in Williamson County schools. The creative puppet presentation about living by the Golden rule, dealing with bullies, not being selfish, and letting out your feelings. Currently we taking break from presentations and looking for new puppet team. If you would like to be part of the puppet team, please call the Life Steps office.
